“After The Rain”, the single from the Emily Francis Trio, is the story of emergence from a period of turmoil, painting an audio picture of riding out a storm. The intro beats down its heavy rain over the urban cityscape as the melody develops and builds to thunder and lighting, culminating in a howling gale of a keyboard solo. The retro sci-fi soundscape further conjures a Blade Runner-esque dystopia and a desire to reconnect with nature. As the song ends, there is a triumphant resolution and a sense of optimism for what lies ahead now that the ‘storm’ is over...
